Mask Requirement Update 6/18/2021

Dear SugarBuzz customers, 

We wanted to take a moment to update you on our COVID policies going forward.  We’ve appreciated all of our guests cooperation with our requirement to wear masks up until this point. We know it hasn’t been easy.  This pandemic has taken its toll on our collective spirits in many ways.  Which is why we are so thankful to be seeing the COVID rates drop in Michigan and across the country.  There’s still a ways to go, but the trends are in favor of some sense of normalcy returning.

We’ve discussed this as a team, and decided to ease our mask restrictions beginning Tuesday, June 22nd.  What this will mean, like many other places, is that if you are vaccinated, you will not be required to wear one while in SugarBuzz.  If you are vaccinated and still want to wear a mask, that’s fine too. If you are still unable to get vaccinated, for whatever reason, we ask that you continue to wear one while inside our bakery.  We are working on the honor system, and truly hope that everyone will abide by these conditions.

Our staff also won’t be required to wear masks anymore either.  Everyone on the SugarBuzz team is fully vaccinated and understands the seriousness of making a change like this.  While there are some concerns and hesitations, we understand that the science points towards Michigan being a little safer, and we’re ready to make some changes. Our disinfecting and other cleaning tasks will continue to be a priority. 

We will keep an eye on how these restrictions easing statewide effect the number of infections.  Should numbers begin to rise again, and our local and national health officials advise making changes, we will do so accordingly.
